NORTH PITTSBURGH QUILTERS GUILD TO HOST QUILT SHOW
The North Pittsburgh Quilters Guild( NPQG) is hosting a quilt show Sept. 11 – 13 celebrating 250 years of the United States of America.
It will be held at Ross Township Community Center, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive( 15237), from 10 a. m. until 5 p. m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 4 p. m. on Sunday. Admission is $ 10.
The show will have vendors, raffle baskets, a raffle quilt and a Treasure Chest filled with fabric and other quilting items.
NPQG is a nonprofit whose main goal is to further the quilting skills and knowledge of its members through programming, speakers( local and national), workshops, lectures and a sewing retreat. The guild also participates in community service projects including making quilts for foster children, Quilts of Valor, blankets for women’ s shelters, and items for cancer patients.
The organization was founded in 1981 when women from a community college quilting class decided they wanted to continue to learn and grow as a group. Members are of all ages and have various levels of quilting experience, and NPQG is always looking for new members who want to enhance their quilting journey.
