The grand total ? $ 60,000 to support families who travel to Morgantown and Pittsburgh seeking lifesaving care for their children .
RMHC provides a home away from home for those families so they can focus on their children ’ s recovery .
“ I ’ m so pleased this promotion raised significant funds to underwrite the vital work RMHC is doing in the community ,” said McDonald ’ s owner / operator Art Alamo .

GOLFING FOR DOGS !
No , the dogs won ’ t actually be playing golf , but people can make some dogs ’ lives much better by participating in the Great Pyrenees Charity Golf Tournament !
The tournament is held to benefit the Great Pyrenees Club of Western Pennsylvania , an allvolunteer organization . It ’ s an annual event that brings the community together to help with the rescue and rehabilitation of Great Pyrenees and other giant breeds , their medical expenses and rehoming .
The tournament will be held Aug . 26 at Edgewood Country Club in Churchill . There will be prizes for first , second and third place , as well as skill prizes . In addition to great golf on a lovely course , there will be dinner and a raffle .

NEW RENAISSANCE THEATRE SHOWS
The New Renaissance Theatre announced the “ unscripted ” Shakespearean plays it will be presenting for the 2024 season , “ Much Adoe About
Nothing ” and “ Twelfe Night , or What You Will .”
This group performs unrehearsed Shakespeare ( oftentimes with hilarious results !) at open-air spaces all around the Pittsburgh area . This year ’ s tour will run from June 21 through July 14 .

TRI-STATE AREA MCDONALD ’ S RESTAURANTS TEAMED UP WITH THE PENGUINS FOR A CAUSE
Fans of the Pittsburgh Penguins found a new way to cheer on the team while also supporting an amazing local charity . And it scored in a big way !

MARKOSEK : MONROEVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT SECURES $ 145,000 STATE GRANT
Funding will support a new police vehicle and ballistic upgrades .
State Rep . Brandon Markosek announced that the Monroeville Police Department has secured a $ 145,000 state grant for a new vehicle and ballistic upgrades for the department ’ s fleet . “ This investment allows the Monroeville Police Department to replace a damaged police vehicle and strengthen its fleet of police vehicles with much-needed driver and passenger side ballistic panels ,” Markosek said .
“ The safety of our community and our law enforcement officers remains a top priority , and this funding underscores the state ’ s commitment to providing the necessary resources and tools for the Monroeville Police Department to continue protecting the community .”
The new funding will be awarded through the Department of Community and Economic Development . n
