“ Art in the

Park”

Members of the Monroeville Arts Council will present the fifth annual Art in the Park on Saturday, June 18. The event, for children ages 6 through 12, will be held at Monroeville Community Park West on Tilbrook Road, Pavilion # 5, from 9:45 a. m. to 3 p. m.

This popular and free offering is provided by a UPMC East sponsorship. Publicity and the venue are made available through the Monroeville Recreation and Parks Department. Craft items and additional instructors for the event are donated by Pat Catan’ s of Monroeville.
A wide variety of activities are planned for this year including art, crafts, theater, music and creative experiences, designed
by experienced Art in the Park volunteer coordinators. Fibre arts, beading, drawing and painting are just a few examples of activities that will be available throughout the day.
Children may stay all day or attend selected activities throughout the day. Parents are required to be present at the event while their children are participating. Activities will be available for parents or they may simply relax in the parent areas. Families staying throughout the day may choose to pack a picnic lunch or snacks. No drinks or food will be provided.

Directions to Art in the Park: Follow the signs to Monroeville Park. Turn right at the second entrance. Proceed past the amphitheater to the tennis courts. Follow the signs to MAC’ s 5th Art in the Park.

MONROEVILLE ARTS COUNCIL 33rd SUMMER CONCERT SERIES JULY 2016

Monroeville Arts Council’ s 33rd Summer Concert Series will feature the very best professional vocalists and bands on three Sundays in July. Performances are scheduled from 4 to 6 p. m. at the beautiful, 800-seat Gateway Middle School auditorium. The public is invited to enjoy the following FREE concerts:

RML Jazz featuring Jessica Lee Smooth and Hot Jazz, BeBop, Traditional.
Rick Purcell Band featuring Shari Richards Fresh and dynamic musical entertainment.
Etta Cox and Her Band Voted Pittsburgh’ s Best Jazz Vocalist for eight consecutive years.
MAC is able to offer this event through the generosity of UPMC East and the cooperation of the Gateway School District. The auditorium is handicapped accessible and there is ample free parking. It is located near the Parkway East 84B exit at the intersection of Route 48 North and Old William Penn Highway.
