2016 JACK AND JILL PRESENTATION BALL
The Pittsburgh Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. held its 2016 Presentation Ball on Dec. 30 at the Omni William Penn Hotel. The gala event included cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and a celebration of 10 talented, academically promising African American teens.
The Presentation Ball was established in 1982 as an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the accomplishments of the junior and senior high school students in the Pittsburgh Chapter biennially. The ball highlights the academic, civic service and athletic achievements of the chapter’ s teens after a yearlong process of workshops and community service activities.
All proceeds from the ball benefited two charities: The Jack and Jill of America Foundation, the organization’ s national charity that is an internationally recognized not-for-profit dedicated to providing support for programs that create opportunities for children in the areas of leadership skills training, development and healthy living; and Gateway Medical Society Journey to Medicine, whose Youth Mentorship Program’ s mission is to educate and mentor minority pre-adolescent males in the art and science of medicine.
