Wempa onroeville Historical Society will be offering a tour of the Old Stone Church, which dates from the 1700s, along with a guided tour of the adjacent Cross Roads Cemetery on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Additionally, the Historical Society’s archivist will present a narrated slide show about the pioneering families of Monroeville. Most people will recognize their names from local street signs. The event is sponsored by the Monroeville Recreation & Parks Department and information can be found in their spring brochure. The cost is $3 and payable in person by credit card or check at the Recreation and Parks Department office in the Municipal Building at 2700 Monroeville Boulevard. Faxed registrations must be paid by credit card with a signature required for processing. The fax number is 412.856.2353. There is a 20-person tour limit and the registration deadline is May 30. Minimum age is 10 years. The church and cemetery are located at Stroschein Road and Monroeville Boulevard. Ample parking is available at the GetGo and Petco lots.
