Gateway Celebrates Class of 2026 During Annual Commencement Ceremony ateway
GATEWAY SCHOOL DISTRICT
As anticipation grew, Gateway High School principal Justin Stephans leaned over into the microphone and spoke two words:“ Class dismissed.”
Students joyfully tossed their graduation caps into the air, marking the end of their journeys at the Gateway School District. The Gateway High School class of 2026— a remarkably talented, resilient, and hardworking group— graduated 273 students on June 3 at Antimarino Stadium.
Students, staff, family, and community members came together on this joyous day to celebrate this awesome achievement. Before students accepted their diplomas and tossed their caps into the air, a number of talented seniors gave speeches and performances. Ethan Settlemire performed the National Anthem, Baylee Blanton gave the Pledge of Allegiance, and Parker Abel performed the Gateway Alma Mater. Senior class president Nysa Chandiramani gave the welcome address, while Harita Venkatesh gave the salutatory address. Both speeches highlighted the successes and growth of the class of 2026 and gave thanks to the people that helped them along the way. Class valedictorian Grant Karstetter capped off the round of student speeches with a heartfelt and funny address before the diploma presentation soon started.
This year’ s class of seniors included 16 students who earned Distinguished Honors( GPA of 4.0 >), 45 students who earned High Honors( GPA of 3.5- 3.999), and 70 students who earned Honors( GPA of 3.0- 3.499).
