STEP INTO THE ICE AGE AT THE ZOO!
The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is transporting guests back in time with its newest temporary exhibit,“ Ice Age: Frozen in Time,” on display through Sept. 1.
The immersive experience brings the frozen world of the Pleistocene epoch to life with more than 50 life-like animated creatures, including mammoths, sabertooth cats, woolly rhinos and dodo birds. Realistic sights, sounds and movements help recreate what life was like millions of years ago— right down to snorts, grunts and mammoth-sized rumbles.
The 12-foot-tall animatronic mammoth serves as the exhibit’ s showstopper, but visitors of all ages will enjoy exploring how these prehistoric animals survived extreme conditions and how their evolution connects to modern wildlife and biodiversity. For more details, visit pittsburghzoo. org. n
