That seems like a rare option anywhere— however, those who are aware of the many benefits of Monroeville Arts Council know that is just one of the many perks for those associated with this local arts group. Recently, accomplished artist Bob Bickers taught learners of all abilities strategies to achieve a realistic landscape painting. This October 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., Pamela Price will offer her "Exploring Watercolor" painting class for all interested persons— free of charge for instruction. All materials needed will be provided during these sessions offered every spring and fall, during MAC's Educational Outreach Workshop in the Monroeville Public Library Program Room. A $10 materials fee will be assessed for non-members of MAC. Enrollment for each of these events is limited to 24 persons. Registration begins one month prior to each event date. If music brings you enjoyment, Monroeville Arts Council again meets the needs of the community with the well received July concerts series. Held at Garden City United Methodist Church, outstanding artists including Etta Cox, East Winds Symphonic Band and Noel Quintana and the Latin Jazz Crew entertain crowds for yet another series of events held at no charge to the public. The needs of children are a priority for this group supportive of the arts. Over 200 children attended a Kids' Art in the Park event held in June. A wide variety of creative projects and activities delighted the youngsters and provided artistic inspiration and enjoyment for all ages of children during that day of activities. On November 16, from 1 to 4 p.m., a Holiday Craft Workshop will be held 30 724.942.0940 TO ADVERTISE ❘ just in time for the upcoming holiday season! A wide assortment of beautiful projects worthy of gifting to the most discriminating recipient will be part of the line-up. Materials to create wreaths, ornaments, gift bags, tags and many more items will be made available for those attending that afternoon of creative fun for all.
