A KEY MILESTONE: SECURING THE SITE On October 21, 2025, the Township took a significant step forward in brining this vision to reality by closing on the Shrine Club property for a future community center. This milestone represents the culmination of months of coordinated work among several Township departments, consultants, and community leaders. With the property officially moving under Township ownership, the project is positioned to enter its next phase: shaping the design and layout of the facility and surrounding grounds.
DESIGNING A SPACE FOR EVERYONE Working closely with architects and planners, the Township will develop concepts that prioritize flexibility, accessibility, and community use. The design process will focus on creating spaces that can serve a variety of needs— from recreation and fitness to arts, education, meetings, and social gatherings. Community engagement will continue to play a central role. As design ideas take shape, residents will be invited to share feedback and help refine how the space can best serve Millcreek’ s diverse population, not only today but for generations to come.“ Our goal is to create a space that reflects the way people in Millcreek live, connect, and participate,” said Ashley Esper, Director of Parks and Recreation.
EXPLORING PARTNERSHIPS & COLLABORATION Another focus in the months ahead will be identifying partnership opportunities with local organizations. These partnerships could include arts and cultural groups, educational institutions, health and wellness providers, and nonprofit service agencies. Such collaborations will help ensure the center offers a wide range of programs and experiences— making it a vibrant hub for the entire community.
KEEPING THE COMMUNITY INVOLVED While design work progresses, residents can expect continued updates through Township meetings, InMillcreek Magazine, and the Township website. Public engagement will remain a cornerstone of the project, with opportunities to view plans, share feedback, and learn more about future phases as they unfold.“ We want residents to know their voices are valued and will continue to shape the project,” stated Esper.
LOOKING AHEAD Each milestone brings the Township closer to creating a modern, inclusive space for our residents.“ The Community Center represents the best of Millcreek- collaboration, creativity, and a shared investment in our future.”
