‘ COME HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS ’ WITH THE ERIE PHILHARMONIC
The holiday season is a time for joy , celebration and music ! This Erie Philharmonic concert combines all three . Special guests the Philharmonic Choruses along with ballet dancers will fill the Warner Theatre with the delightful sights and sounds of the holiday season on Dec . 7 from 3 to 7:30 p . m . ASBURY WOODS WINTER WONDERLAND !
The boardwalk near Asbury Woods ’ Andrew J . Conner Nature Center will become an enchanted Winter Wonderland from 5:30 to 8:30 p . m . each night Dec . 1-31 ( except Dec . 24 & 25 ).
Enjoy a stroll on the boardwalk through the woods , with thousands of twinkling holiday lights . The woods and wetlands will be lit , and the display covers approximately one-third of a mile .
You can also stop inside the nature center and view the model train display and animal exhibit . The gift shop will feature holiday items and unique products from local artisans for sale .

HOLIDAY CARRIAGE RIDES !
Port Farms in Waterford will be offering horse-drawn carriage rides Nov . 29 through Dec . 22 . The ride will take you through the tree plantation , and afterward you can warm up by a cozy fire and enjoy wonderful holiday fare . This is an annual Christmas tradition for many area families .
Port Farms will also hold “ Country Christmas ,” where you can cut your own Christmas tree and Santa ’ s Workshop will offer crafts , cookie decorating and many more fun activities , including a visit with Santa !

FEEDING THE COMMUNITY
West Millcreek Food Pantry ’ s clients include elderly members of the community , small children — especially those from single-parent families — and wage earners who are employed but whose salaries do not cover their living expenses adequately .
The pantry is supplied with food donations from the community , which is greatly appreciated . However , donations of various food items do not always create a good supply of food that can make up balanced meals . This requires ordering food from other sources , so monetary donations are also essential .

BLUE STAR MOTHERS IN ERIE
A very dedicated group of local military moms has officially chartered a chapter of the national organization Blue Star Mothers of America . The members of Presque Isle Blue Star Mothers support each other and their loved ones in service to our country , many of whom serve overseas and will not be home for the holidays .
The group participates in local parades , Wreaths Across America , and collections of presents for soldiers and sailors .
Blue Star Mothers is a nonprofit , nonpolitical organization of mothers , stepmothers , grandmothers , foster mothers and female legal guardians who have children serving in active military , the National Guard , the reserves or are veterans . Members support each other and their loved ones who are serving , while promoting patriotism .
