Lake Erie provides drinking water for over 11 million people !
In the first week of October , Asbury Woods welcomed over 550 eager students to its annual Children ' s Water Festival . The event featured a hands-on lesson led by Millcreek Township employees , Ashley Marsteller , Jessica Stutzman , and Gene Clemente , who taught participants about the water cycle using glass jars . As the students
patiently observed the processes of evaporation , condensation , and precipitation , they were captivated by the science behind the water cycle .
While waiting for their experiments to unfold , the township instructors took the opportunity to educate the students about aqueducts and the vital importance of conserving freshwater . They emphasized how crucial this conservation is , particularly in the Great Lakes region , for the survival of both humans and the ecosystem . The festival not only provided fun and interactive learning but also instilled a sense of responsibility in the next generation about protecting their precious water resources .
