Millcreek Township Code Enforcement and Emergency Management would like to thank you for your continuing efforts throughout the seasons in ensuring your sidewalks are in good and safe conditions for the use of pedestrians . Removal of snow can be challenging . Please keep the following considerations in mind during a weather event … illcreek

MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP NEWS
It is expected that sidewalks should be cleared within 24 hours after snowfall . Remove snow , ice and other snow accumulations to ensure sidewalks are in safe conditions . Provide for a continuous path of travel through driveways / parking lots to adjacent sidewalks and crosswalks . Ensure entire width of sidewalk area is free of hazardous conditions . Keep fire hydrants accessible by removing snow and ice ( see image ).

Responsibility :

The owners of all properties which abut a street or state highway were a sidewalk has been constructed shall be responsible for the proper care , maintenance and condition of said sidewalk . We ask owners or other designated persons to keep sidewalk areas in reasonably good and safe conditions for the use of pedestrians .
PLEASE REMEMBER … YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARK OR LEAVE STANDING ANY VEHICLE WITHIN OR ALONG THE PAVED CARTWAY DURING ANY SNOW , ICE OR WEATHER EVENT . Keep in mind a weather event is considered when the performance of plowing , salting or other removal services is needed to clear the streets .
