Holiday DUI Information
During last year’s holiday season, the Millcreek Police
Department arrested 10 drivers for drunk/impaired driving.
As the holiday season approaches the police department
wants to remind everyone to be safe and to drive sober.
Nationally 40% of traffic related deaths during the holiday
season area result of drunk driving. Also, “Blackout
Wednesday,” which is the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, is a
bigger drinking day statistically than New Year’s Eve or
St. Patrick’s Day.
The Millcreek Police Department, in conjunction with
the Erie County DUI Task Force will be actively enforcing
traffic laws and stopping suspected drunks drivers. The
average cost of being arrested and convicted of a DUI is
$10,000.00.
