Millcreek Paramedic Service Peter Frenchak, MPS Executive Director T illcreek MI LLCRE E K PA R AME DI C S E R VI C E NE WS hanks to a generous donation, Erie County emergency service agencies and fire departments now have access to a new Response Terrain Vehicle or RTV. The new RTV is housed at Edinboro Fire Department and is available for use by Millcreek Paramedic Service, Edinboro Fire Department, McKean Hose Company, Central Erie County Paramedic Association and Springboro Fire Department  and will respond to mutual aid calls when requested. The RTV is a Kubota RTV1140CPX that has been specially equipped with a slide out medical tray, BLS (Basic Life Support) equipment, emergency lighting, a Stokes basket, and radio equipment. It can be used in emergency situation and for medical standbys (mass gathering events) Millcreek Paramedic Service has had to opportunity to use it at recent events, including an Integrated Structural Burn class, McDowell Cross Country Invitational at Browns Farms, Beast on the Bay and the Erie Marathon. Peter became interested in EMS as a child, growing up in Butler, Pa., medical helicopters would land regularly at the hospital near his childhood home. After serving six years as a security policeman in the United States Air Force, he decided to return to EMS, and attended paramedic school, and became and EMS instructor. Peter has over 23 years of emergency service experience. His experiences have spanned over the entire public safety spectrum, which include emergency medical services, fire, rescue, and law enforcement. He is a graduate of Point Park University, with a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration and EMS Management, and is working towards completing a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His combination of public safety and healthcare experience, coupled with education gives him the tools needed to lead MPS into the future. In addition to the Executive Director, Millcreek Paramedic Service has a management team with a significant amount of years’ experience in EMS. The team consists of three managers who a responsible for the different aspects of our company’s day to day operation. They work with each other to ensure MPS runs efficiently and consistently. This allows MPS to continue to respond to our residents in the best ways possible. The Operations Manager, Bill Martin, is responsible for the day to day ambulance and transportation operations. The Clinical Manager, Dennis Hickin, is responsible for oversight of employee education and clinical quality improvement processes. In the Administrative office, Bethany Stronghart, the Administrative Manager, has oversight of our billing and administrative procedures. Together, all three managers work with our Executive Director to keep MPS running in the best shape for both the company and the residents of Millcreek Township. On behalf of Millcreek Paramedic Service, we would like to thank our residents for their continued support to this service. Although we hope you will never need our services, please know we are ready to assist you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for any emergency and hope you find comfort in your time of need. EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER Congratulations to Jessica Miller, selected as Millcreek Paramedic Service’s “Employee of the Quarter.” Jessica began her journey with MPS in October 2011, starting as the Transportation Coordinator. Since then, Jessica has been a great asset to our billing department, marketing efforts and annual memberships drive. You can always count on her to be available to participate in educating our community about the services we offer and our membership campaign. In her free time, she is a dance instructor at Kristine’s School of Dance, and enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 year old son. We thank Jessica for her compassion and dedication to MPS!
