Heading into the summer season, health fairs and outreach opportunities in and around the Millcreek area will bring community members together for the chance to learn, connect, and take charge of their wellbeing. These events highlight local resources, care, and support.
Minority Veterans Program- Asian American Heritage Month
Celebration Monday, May 4, 2026 11 a. m. – 1 p. m. Erie VA Medical Center, 135 East 38th Street
Many Cultures, One Commitment: Honoring AAPI Veterans and Service. This event reflects the diverse cultural backgrounds of Asian American and Pacific Islander Veterans and the shared dedication to service that unites them. This inaugural observance provides an opportunity to recognize contributions, elevate awareness, and celebrate the resilience and history of AAPI Veterans within the broader Veteran community.
Purple One Conference Thursday, May 7, 2026 7:30 a. m. – 4:30 p. m. Ambassador Hotel and Conference Center
The Purple One Conference is dedicated to addressing domestic violence and inspiring collective action. Nichole Schmidt, mother of Gabby Petito, will deliver a heartfelt keynote— Gabby’ s Story— sharing her personal journey and highlighting the urgent need for awareness and prevention. Jim Schmidt, Gabby’ s stepfather, will provide in-depth training for community members and First Responders on domestic violence, equipping attendees with practical tools and knowledge. The conference aims to unite professionals, community members, and leaders to strengthen the response to domestic violence, empower communities and First Responders, foster collaboration, promote innovative solutions, and inspire hope and action.
Erie VA 75th Anniversary Event

The Erie VA Medical Center invites you to join us as we celebrate 75 years of excellent service to our Veterans. There will be a ceremony at 1 p. m. followed by refreshments and a Veteran Resource Fair until 4 p. m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Rooms.

Disability Resource Fair Saturday, May 30, 2026 10 a. m.- 4 p. m. PennWest Edinboro, Pogue Center, 405 Scotland Road, Edinboro
Free and open to the public, this event will bring everything under one roof, offering parents and individuals with disabilities the opportunity to connect with organizations, ask questions, and discover what’ s available in their own backyard.
