FIRE TRAINING UPDATES
MFD FIRE TRAINING
After the swearing-in of three new part-time firefighters and our new Assistant Fire Chief, William Anderson, the Millcreek Fire Department has been engaged in many ongoing training exercises. These trainings are essential to the success of the fire department. They reinforce essential skills and ensure preparedness for the increased demands of the summer season. This time of year brings the“ Physical Agility Test,” which a candidate must complete in order to be sworn-in.
Some of the Millcreek Fire Department Training includes:
MFD SWEARING IN CEREMONY
Engine 922: Staff completed hands-on training that focused on deploying hand lines, by pulling longlines from the rear hose bed.
They also practiced stretching lines, flowing water and repacking hand lines, while familiarizing themselves with fire hydrant testing.
Engine 925: Firefighters simulated working quickly to establish water supply while flowing water and pumping lines and appliances during their training.
Engine 923: Staff reviewed air bag operations to improve rescue capabilities.
