In 2025, our dispatchers managed more than 22,000 incidents and handled between 50,000 and 75,000 calls-- averaging six to seven every single hour. Those numbers tell part of the story. What they don ' t capture is the range of people behind them: volunteer firefighters, paramedics, and career public servants who bring their whole selves to this work, including one dispatcher with more than 35 years of service to this community.
Across first, second, and third shift, 365 days a year, our telecommunications team is the first voice callers hear in their most difficult moments. They are calm when it ' s hardest to be, trained for what most of us will never face, and committed to this township in a way that rarely gets the recognition it deserves.
