A place to connect, grow, and thrive— right in your neighborhood. Your Place. Your People. Your Community.
PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE
Millcreek Township recently completed the Official Map process, which helps plan for future community needs. One property stood out— the Shrine Club— because it’ s large, centrally located, and next to a Township park.
At the same time, the Township created and adopted a Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. It focuses on three big goals:
Make it easier to walk or bike to parks Get more people involved in programs and events Invest in popular spaces like fitness areas, trails, and pools
One important idea from the plan? Look into building a community center!

To move forward, the Township signed a Letter of Intent to buy the Shrine Club property. They brought in experts from ISES Corp to check out the site— everything from plumbing and electrical systems to the building’ s structure. They also estimated repair and upgrade costs.
The Township also hired Ballard King to do a Feasibility Study. This study looked at:
Community needs and interests Recreation trends and operations How a center could help the economy
Millcreek’ s Parks and Rec Department also asked for your input! They ran a community survey, hosted three public sessions, and presented ideas at a Board of Supervisors meeting.

Did you now that 76 percent of residents who responded to the community survey indicated they would use a local community center that included fitness, wellness, and recreational programs.
" This project opens the door for us to expand our program offerings to Millcreek families," said Ashley Marsteller, Director of Parks & Rec.
