Moments of fear. A flood of adrenaline. One officer’ s training guided his every move.
On September 5, 2023, what began as a routine call quickly escalated into a lifethreatening encounter.
Officers responding to a residence in Millcreek Township were met with 10 – 12 rounds of gunfire. Amid the chaos and immediate danger, Patrolman Eli Peyronel demonstrated extraordinary bravery and composure.
Relying on his training and quick instincts, Ptlm. Peyronel used tactical cover to return fire— prioritizing the safety of his fellow officers while navigating an unpredictable and volatile situation. Once the threat was neutralized, his role didn’ t stop there. He was instrumental in helping to secure the suspect and immediately transitioned into administering medical aid.

His ability to remain calm under pressure, make life-saving decisions, and act with professionalism in the most critical moments are a true reflection of his character and dedication to the Millcreek Police Department.
For these heroic actions, Ptlm. Eli Peyronel has been named MPD’ s Employee of the Year for 2024.

Brady Kramer gains hands-on experience and insight into realworld policing
Brady Kramer, a student at McDowell High School, spent time interning with the Millcreek Police Department to learn what it ' s really like to work in law enforcement.
From riding along with officers to exploring specialty units like the bomb squad, Brady got hands-on experience and a behind-the-scenes look at daily police work. His time with MPD gave him valuable insight into the role officers play in keeping the community safe. Millcreek Township is proud to support students like Brady as they explore careers in public service.
SGT. DAVE PARMETER
From crisis calls to courtroom calm, Sgt. Parmeter’ s impact will be felt long after his final shift.
For over two decades, Sgt. Dave Parmeter has been a calm, steady force within the MPD. Known for his integrity and compassion, he’ s played a vital role in some of the department’ s most sensitive and impactful work.
He’ s served as an Honor Guard member, a skilled crisis negotiator, and a Juvenile Aid investigator— roles that required both heart and resilience. February 2025, Sgt. Parmeter was named MPD’ s Employee of the Month. As he steps into retirement, we recognize not only his years of service, but the lasting difference he’ s made in the lives of so many.
