HOW DOES THE TOWNSHIP TRACK LISTINGS?
Millcreek Township uses Host Compliance, a specialized software that scans over a dozen rental websites to identify STR listings in the Township. It checks if the property is in an approved zoning area and whether it has a valid license.

If a listing is found to be unlicensed or in a prohibited zone, Host Compliance allows the Township to notify the owner to resolve the issue. illcreek

WHERE ARE STRs ALLOWED?
Limited Lodging is only permitted in select zoning districts: MU-1 Neighborhood Mixed Use MU-2 Corridor Mixed Use PI Presque Isle Gateway Certain Single Family Residential areas near Presque Isle, designated within the Limited Lodging overlay.
STRs are not allowed in most other residential and commercial zones throughout the Township.
HOW IS IT REGULATED?

Property owners must apply for a license through the Township, which includes: A safety inspection of the rental property Occupancy limits based on number of bedrooms Naming a responsible party who can be contacted as needed
Annual inspections are required to renew the license each year.
