Before, During, and After Construction Expectations
Before Construction Millcreek Township Streets and Sewers will be looking at Township Assets: Storm Sewer catch basins will be looked at and repaired or replaced if needed. Camera trucks may be recording pipelines and checking for pipes in need of grouting or replacement prior to paving.
During Construction A lot of large equipment and workers will be present on the paving project. Flaggers will tell you to slow down, stop, and when to go. Follow flaggers directions, they will tell you when it is safe to drive around. Protecting drivers and workers is the highest priority during construction. First comes milling( the removal of old pavement) which leaves a scratched surface. These millings are hauled away and reused. Then the new asphalt paving surface is installed. Paving machines place the asphalt from the dump trucks, which haul the asphalt and rollers compact the asphalt to make roads smooth. Projects will take a few months to complete, so your patience is very appreciated. illcreek
MILLCREEK TOWNSHIP NEWS
After Construction Roads will be smooth and nicely paved. The road surface will be darker in color until the sun fades it over time. Because the newly paved roads are much smoother, the township has witnessed increased speeding on them. Millcreek Township will be monitoring vehicle speeds, so please drive slowly and follow speed limits.
Maintaining our roads and filling potholes is about more than just preserving infrastructure; it’ s about ensuring the safety and convenience of every driver, cyclist, and pedestrian.
