Millcreek Fire Department Chief Mike Cliff ( shown in the second photo on the left ) was hired in June of 2023 . Since hiring he has led the MFD through hiring their first fire fighters and an incredibly high volume of calls . Every incident that the MFD and volunteer departments attend to is a potential threat to our community ’ s safety .

Prior to the recent implementation of the Millcreek Fire Department ( MFD ) in early 2023 , the township was serviced solely by four volunteer departments , Belle Valley , Kearsarge , West Ridge , and West Lake . The dedication from these departments to continue serving their community over the past 80 years is truly admirable .
With a decrease in volunteerism , the fire commission made up of community members and volunteer fire fighters recommended the creation of a full-time paid fire department in the township . The goal was to best serve the community and find a solution for the next 80 years and beyond .
