This three week summer session in Math and Language Arts can help bridge the gap from this school year to next . We want your child to be ready to start next school year !
The instruction is provided by Millcreek teachers and will be customized to address your student ’ s learning needs .
We will use an array of engaging ways to help your student be prepared and successful for the upcoming school year .
There is no cost to attend !
The Summer Learning Lab will be offered from July 12 to July 29 , Mondays through Thursdays . Students may attend virtually or in person . Contact Your Child ’ s School Principal to Learn More !
DID YOU KNOW OUR SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLANS CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER BREAK ?
DM : Dr . Nientimp , Many school administrators are preparing for the summer break by planning professional development webinars for their staff and reviewing building renovation schedules . What is the Student Services & Special Education Team working on for Summer 2021 ?
EN : The student services staff will be attending professional development sessions offered by the curriculum department and also attending training on trauma informed care . Our team is also finalizing details for two summer programs offered to eligible students with individualized education plans ( IEP ). IEP teams are conducted annually and each student is considered for extended school year programming , which is offered to students most likely to lose skills over long breaks . New this year are COVID compensatory services ( CCS ) which have been offered to eligible students who were most impacted by the mandated school closure last Spring . Students attending extended school year or CCS have been identified and families notified . This program will be held in July and August .
DM : Thank you Dr . Nientimp for the ongoing personalized support your team is providing to our students . Are these special education programs available to all students with IEPs ?
EN : Great question Mrs . Moseley , All students with IEP ’ s were considered for both ESY and CCS . Those found to be eligible have been notified of the programs . I would encourage any MTSD family who would like more information on Pupil Services & Special Educations services available to contact the supervisor at their child ’ s school building to learn more about ways we can support their child ’ s needs .
