Inflow / Infiltration efforts reducing costs T illcreek Millcreek Township S ewer Authority he Millcreek Township Sewer Authority and Millcreek Township Sewer Revenue Department have been very proactive on finding and eliminating sources of inflow or infiltration (surface or ground waters that do not need to be treated) from entering the sanitary sewer system. Previous articles have informed the reader of the Inflow / Infiltration (I/I) efforts, here is some information on our financial cost savings results. The Five Years of Flow graph shown below, prepared by the City of Erie, Bureau of Sewers, shows the percentages of the total sewage flows metered at the Erie Wastewater Treatment Plant for each municipality connected to the Erie sewer system.
