MILLCREEK POLICE ARE DEDICATED TO COMMUNITY SAFETY
Dedicated - one word of many to describe The Millcreek Police Department in 2023 .
The MPD had an incredible period of growth and success under former Chief Heidt . Now , they are looking toward the future .
It all starts with Carter Mook becoming the 11th Millcreek Police Chief .
On his plans , Chief Mook said , “ I will work tirelessly to maximize excellence , professionalism , and accountability . Together , the MPD will change Millcreek in an enduring and meaningful way ”.
Some changes in the department include a new social worker to effectively deal with mental health calls , an increase in communication to the public , and a renewed effort on a positive community presence . Additionally , an influx of new hires has made the MPD younger than ever .
Part of this is a renewed commitment to a diverse Millcreek Township . The MPD will be reaching out to various community leaders and establishing relationships to support more diverse segments of Millcreek .
Beyond community relations , Chief Mook has identified training as a critical and ongoing need .
“ We will be doing more in-house training in use of force . MPD will continue to evaluate training needs for the safety of our officers and our citizens , after all , we have an entire community who expects us to be at our best .”
Finally , with a percentage of the MPD roster eligible to retire in the next five years , Chief Mook will provide plans to identify and develop the future leaders of the Millcreek Police Department . illcreek

Regarding the new hires , MPD Lt . Sebulak said , “ These changes have been necessary and compliment the Township ’ s growth over the years . Myself and the officers are excited to work along with the Millcreek Community as we all grow . Millcreek Township ' s citizens have been very supportive of our department , and we look to continue offering them excellent services .”
Chief Mook ’ s vision for Millcreek PD is to be trusted and respected by the entirety of Millcreek Township with each decision made to benefit the community .

CHIEF CARTER MOOK PROMOTION
Carter Mook was promoted from Deputy Chief to the 11th Chief of Police on January 31 , 2023 . Chief Mook is a 28-year veteran of the Millcreek Police department . He has a mission and vision for guiding the MPD into the future .
Chief Mook was chosen in an internal interview process with several highly qualified candidates . Carter Mook is a 28-year veteran of the Millcreek Police Dept . He has spent his entire career in the Patrol Division . Mook was first promoted to Corporal in 2005 , and he served as a Field Training Officer and Patrol Supervisor .
In 2006 Mook was appointed as the Department ’ s Traffic Section Commander . In this position , Mook assumed the role of Lead Traffic Investigator and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant . He became an accredited crash reconstructionist and served the department for 15 years in the investigation of serious injury and fatal motor vehicle accidents .
Mook was promoted to Lieutenant in Patrol in 2009 . He commanded the 1st Platoon for 5 years , which was comprised of 13 officers .
In 2014 Mook was promoted to Captain , and commanded the Patrol division for nearly 9 years . The Patrol Division is comprised of 47 officers . He then assumed the role of Incident Commander for the SWAT Team . While serving as the Patrol Commander , Mook has furthered his leadership skills and is a 2022 graduate of the FBI ’ s Law Enforcement Executive Development Association ’ s Trilogy program .
