The ASHI (American Safety and Health Institute) Child and Babysitting safety training course is designed to focus on caring, supervising and keeping children and infants safe in babysitting settings. This program provides fundamental information in the business of babysitting, proper supervision and basic caregiving skills, and responding properly to ill or injured children and infants. Students will learn the fundamentals for safety and protection of those in their care. Attendees will also learn the right steps for dealing with difficult children, and those who don’t get along. This course will give students the information that they need to respond appropriately to an emergency. Steps to answering the phone, and the door while you are the caregiver in charge, and steps for caring and feeding a baby (those younger than 1 year), are included in this course. Millcreek Paramedics Service will be holding a Child and Babysitting class on Saturday, March 24th, from 9:00am – 1:00pm at the Millcreek Township Building, 3608 West 26th Street. The class is open to individuals 11-15 years old.
