Take advantage of the valuable health talks offered by LifeWorks
Erie. Physicians from LECOM Health will discuss many health topics
including health guidelines, managing conditions, presenting
disease and ways to boost your quality of life. These classes
are held the third Wednesday of every month at the Millcreek
Municipal Building at 6:00 p.m. These talks are free and open to
the public; however, you must register for these presentations by
calling LifeWorks Erie at (814) 453-5072.

Aches and Pains-Prevention and Treatment Strategies

Joint and muscle pain are things that we all encounter in some
way. There are ways to prevent these injuries and chronic pain
before they occur. There are also a number of new concepts in
treatment options for these conditions. Dr. Rial will summarize and
lead a discussion into these topics.
ERIE PHIL’S MAESTRO DANIEL MEYER VISITS LIFEWORKS ERIE
Join us at LifeWorks Erie on Thursday, March 8 at 3:30 p.m. to
hear Erie Philharmonic Maestro Daniel Meyer talk about the history
of the Philharmonic, the musicians, upcoming concerts, and get a
sneak preview of next year’s season! Daniel has been the musical
director of the Erie Philharmonic for the past 10 seasons. He will
share his background, some of his personal experiences, and why
the orchestra is a vital part of Erie’s culture. Refreshments will be

LIFEWORKS ERIE UPCOMING WORKSHOPS AT THE MILLCREEK MUNICIPAL

DIABETES SELF-MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
This program is a six week program. Participants will learn
exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and
endurance, the appropriate use of medications, healthy eating
and reading food labels, and improving communication with
physicians.
This workshop will be offered Wednesdays, May 2 through
June 6 from 9:00 to 12:00 p.m.
POWERFUL TOOLS FOR CAREGIVERS WORKSHOPS
This program is a six week course that meets for 1.5 hours
each week. Caregivers will learn how to reduce personal stress,
communicate feelings and needs, set limits, ask for help, deal with
emotions, make tough decisions and deal with difficult situations.

This workshop will be offered Wednesdays, May 2 through
June 6 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
HEALTHY STEPS FOR OLDER ADULTS
This program answers questions about how to stay active, how
to make one’s home safer and how to manage medication that
may interfere with balance. Topics covered are: fall prevention,
staying active and resources available to older adults in
Pennsylvania. It is an eight hour program.
This workshop will be offered Wednesday, June 13 and
Thursday, June 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
