BEGINNER ENGLISH PAPER PIECING

Instructor: Lisa Witowski

English paper piecing is a technique that allows the quilter to create unique and intricate designs by wrapping fabric around paper templates. These templates are then sewn together and the paper is removed. This method is slow stitching that is meditative and relaxing. It is wonderful for people who like to work with their hands. English paper piecing doesn’ t require a sewing machine, and it is a portable method of sewing that can be down anywhere. Project ideas include table runners, wall hangings, quilts or throws. You may bring your own ideas too! Supplies Needed: Scissors, a pen, Elmer’ s washable school glue, a charm pack, total of a half-yard of fabric

AMERICANA ART STUDIO

Celebrate America ' s 250th anniversary through art! This open studio-style class invites artists of all skill levels to create three original pieces inspired by the theme of Americana. Whether your inspiration comes from historic landmarks, patriotic imagery, or personal interpretations of American life, you ' ll have the freedom to create special pieces in the medium of your choice. This is not a step-by-step guided class, rather personalized instruction and feedback will be given each week. The course concludes with a class critique, providing an opportunity to share completed works and celebrate each artist ' s creative journey. * Materials & supplies are not provided.
