Responders in the season of giving : The annual PSP Christmas Shop With A Hero Event is giving back to children in the Millcreek area . Each child will be given the opportunity to shop with a local hero ( military , EMS , firefighters , nurses , and law enforcement ).
A gift shopping spree for kids : Each child will have $ 100 to spend on Christmas gifts for themselves and / or family members . After the event the children will have the opportunity to wrap their gifts and enjoy Christmas festivities . The Shop with a Hero event is made possible through Walmart grants and community contributions .

FALL HOME MAINTENANCE TIPS
Make sure smoke and CO detectors are working . Check batteries and expiration dates . Replace furnace filters to help with heating system efficiency . Windows and doors should be weathertight . Check roofs for missing shingles or need of other repairs . Clean chimney and exhaust vents for heating appliances . Check home and other structures for signs of deterioration including cracks and holes to prevent insects and / or other vermin from entering . Ensure plumbing pipes are well insulated to prevent freezing . Know where your water shut offs are .
