FOOD WASTE DROP-OFF PROGRAM
Millcreek Township in partnership with Conservation Compost is working towards creating a sustainable future for the community . Through this partnership , a food waste drop-off program began in March 2022 at the Millfair Compost Center . This program will be open to Millcreek residents and to all residents of Erie County .

Accepted Organics : Meat , Fish , Fats , Vegetables , Fruits , Dairy Products , Bread , Rice , Beans , Cooked Foods , Coffee Grounds , Egg Shells , Spoiled Foods , Paper Towels , PLA Compostable Products .
Costs to Participants : First Month : $ 15.00 ( Drop-Off Service , Compost Bucket , and 4 Compostable Liners ) Second Month & Thereafter : $ 10.00 / Month Additional Compostable Liners : $ 6.25 / Roll
Purchase of the composting bucket and liners are not required for the program , but recommended . Participants will receive a 5-gallon compost bucket , a one-month supply of compostable liners , and access to dump food waste in the Conservation Compost 65-gallon green toters at the Millfair Compost Center as needed .
BACKYARD COMPOSTING WORKSHOP
Saturday , September 23 , 2023 Asbury Woods Nature Center 4105 Asbury Road , Erie PA 16506 9:00am - 12:00pm $ 40 Program Fee
This workshop , offered in partnership with Asbury Woods , focuses on diverting kitchen food waste from landfills by composting at home . Upon completion of the workshop , each participant will receive a Compost Wizard Jr . bin so attendees can put their new knowledge into action . Backyard composting saves valuable landfill space and produces nutrient-rich soil !

Millcreek Township will be accepting submissions for its annual Photography Showcase . Photos submitted should be taken within Millcreek Township ' s or Erie County boundaries . They should be uniquely Millcreek with a defined subject or landscape . Please keep in mind that the activities listed below are just suggestions and photo submissions are not limited to the list

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
Photo submissions will be judged by the Community Relations and Sustainability Department and Recycling Committee . Millcreek Township reserves the right to NOT use photos and / or may continue to use in future years without further consent . Photographers will receive credit for photos within the calendar and other Township publications . All photos must be turned in on a USB with the photographer ' s name and contact info to the Millcreek Recycling Department Office ( 3608 West 26th Street ). USBs will not be returned . Submissions can also be accepted digitally with the same requirements sent via a downloadable cloud link to communication @ millcreektownship . com . You will receive an email confirmation . If you do not within one week , please reach out via phone or drop off submissions physically .
Photos must be horizontal and in . jpeg , . png or . tiff format and 300dpi or larger . At a 12 " W x 9 '' L page this equals 3600 x 2700 pixel density to fill the page .
