We hope you were able to enjoy some of what our area has to offer. Autumn is right around the corner bringing the cooler temperatures, changing leaves, football and of course, spice lattes. There is still plenty to do during the fall season, so get out and enjoy our wonderful community. In case you missed it (and not many did), the Millcreek 4th of July Parade was bigger and better than ever! Huge crowds clad in red, white and blue lined both sides of 12th Street for the mile long event. We thank the Parade committee for the many months and endless hours spent organizing and preparing the parade. The end of summer signals the start of school, so don’t miss the School Bus safety reminders in this issue. Check out the article where Millcreek Township received a very special gift from the Presque Isle Garden Club…The Blue Star Memorial Marker at Veterans Park! Also in this issue, Code Enforcement brings us some tips on getting ready for Fall. The Planning and Development Department also gives us an update on Activating Embrace Millcreek. Public Services remind us all to get our flu shots! The article also lists the dates of upcoming driver safety classes as well as information on the PA Property Tax and Rent Rebate program. Our Recycling Department gives us information on this year’s International Coastal Cleanup, the photography showcase for upcoming 2020 calendar, along with results from the Millfair Special Collection Day that was held in May. Ask the Recycling Coordinator always has some new information on proper recycling procedures. Enjoy what’s left of the warm weather, and what we hope will be a beautiful fall. The Blue Star Marker rests in a beautiful garden the Presque Isle Garden Club planted, adjacent to the front entrance area of the park, just below the American Flag. The Blue Star Memorial Blue Star Marker Marker is often gifted by garden clubs as a means to honor and pay tribute to our nation’s Armed Forces. Millcreek Township is grateful U.S. Veteran Representatives to partner with the Presque Isle Garden Club and honor our communities Veterans in such an extraordinary way!
