EK TOWNSHIP & LIFEWORKS ERIE HOMEOWNERS RECEIVE: Income Maximum Rebate $0 to $8,000 $8,001 to $15,000 $15,001 to $18,000 $18,001 to $35,000 RENTERS RECEIVE: The Property Tax Rent Rebate has been extended through December 31, 2018 The Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program is one of five programs supported by the Pennsylvania Lottery. The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians ages 65 or older; widows and widowers ages 50 and older; and people with disabilities ages 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 per year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters. Half of Social Security income is excluded. Depending on income, rent, and tax costs, rebates can be as high as $650. Your rebate may even be higher if you pay more than 15% of income in property taxes. AARP DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM If you are 50 years of age and older, you know that cars have changed as well as traffic regulations, driving conditions, and the roads we travel on every day. The AARP Driver Safety Program is hosted at the Millcreek Municipal Building monthly throughout the year. First-time attendees MUST attend an eight-hour, two-day course (4 hours each day). If you have previously attended the course, you are eligible to take a four-hour, one-day “refresher course.” The course is open to all Millcreek and non-Millcreek residents. In these classes, you will learn: • defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules • how to deal with aggressive drivers • how to handle problem situations, such as right-of-way and blind spots Best of all, those who complete the course can earn a discount on their auto insurance. (Please consult your insurance agent.) Cost for the program is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. Registration is required. They have upgraded their cable television service to 100% digital. With this all digital upgrade Public, Educational and Government Access Channels (PEG Channels) have been relocate into a “Public Affairs Neighborhood”. The new location for the Millcreek Government Channel (MGC) is Channel 1024. Even if you are not a cable subscriber, you can still enjoy the programs on our YouTube Channel.
