Getting an annual flu vaccine is the first and best way to protect yourself and your family from the flu. Flu vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school due to flu, as well as prevent flu-related hospitalizations. The more people who get vaccinated, the more people will be protected from flu, including older people, very young children, pregnant women and people with certain health conditions who are more vulnerable to serious flu complications.*
To prepare Erie area residents to combat the flu, the LifeWorks Erie 2017 Flu and Pneumonia Vaccination campaign will kick-off on Wednesday, September 20, from 8 a. m. to 3 p. m. at the Shrine Club, 2525 West 38th Street. The kick-off event is held during the Living Well: Living Long Expo. Admission is free, so come and enjoy the variety of vendors, demonstrations and presentations on health and wellness available to all who attend this event.
Following the kick-off, LifeWorks Erie’ s“ Don’ t Let the Flu Bug You” community clinics are held throughout the region at hundreds of convenient locations from early September thru the end of November. Among those locations, vaccinations will be offered at: MILLCREEK MUNICIPAL BUILDING Thursday, September 21 from 9:00 a. m. to Noon and 3:00 to 6:00 p. m. Thursday, October 5 from 10:00 a. m. to Noon and 3:00 to 6:00 p. m. Friday, November 3 from 3:00 to 6:00 p. m.
