The Author’ s Tea
On Tuesday, May 22 the third graders from Mrs. DeCecco’ s class and Mrs. Bisi’ s class came together At Francis McClure Elementary to celebrate the students’ yearly writing at an Author’ s Tea.
The Author’ s Tea was culminating event designed to share out students’ writing with a real audience. The students focused on different writing styles throughout the year that included narratives, informational, opinion pieces along with poetry.

The event began with an‘ open mic’ session. Six chosen students from each class read aloud one of their writing pieces to the audience of family, friends, teachers and distinguished guests on a created stage.
Following the‘ open mic’, all the students had the opportunity to share their special Author’ s Tea folder of yearly writing with the many guests in the audience. The event ended with a popcorn celebration. It was an amazing time shared by all!
