cKeesport’s annual Kids
Fishing Derby took place
on June 9 at Lake Emilie
in Renziehausen Park –
inviting children 15 and younger to try a
new sport or perfect their fishing skills. The
program brought together city youth, their
families, and a local mentoring group. “The
fishing derby is always a favorite activity
in McKeesport,” Mayor Mike Cherepko
said. “Not only is this event a great way for
families to kick off the summer season, but
it’s an opportunity for kids to get out and
try something new without traveling far
to do it. Renzie Park is definitely unique in
that there’s something here for everyone.”
