In Recognition of Sgt. Satterfield’ s Exemplary Service to Our Country and Humanitarian Efforts Here and Abroad
Just four months after being surprised at the Steeler-Denver game on December 20, 2015, at Heinz Field, she received a new home in recognition of her exemplary military service, Army Staff Sgt. Michelle Satterfield, a single mother, and her son, Hunter, were given the keys to their new completed home for the first time on, April 25th. A ceremony at McKeesport Area High School followed by a motorcade to her nearby new home in White Oak kicked off the celebration. Both venues were complete with military honors, American musical tributes by McKeesport Area Choir students, remarks from local officials and Sgt. Satterfield, a tour of the new home. The home was built by McKeesport Area School District Building and Construction students and donated through the Stephen Siller“ Tunnel to Towers” Foundation which has donated 47‘ smart’ homes to military veterans in the U. S. Additionally, MASD STEM students outfitted the home with a security system. Welcome to our community SSgt. Satterfield!
