NAACP Invites Community To Breakfast
I
n celebration of Black History Month, the NAACP McKeesport Unit hosted
its annual pancake breakfast -- inviting members and the whole community
to come together for a hearty breakfast, bake sale, artifacts display, and
mime performance at the Jacob Woll (Main) Pavilion on the morning of
Saturday, February 29. Each year, this event is a fruitful fundraiser for the local
NAACP, as well as a great opportunity for the unit to share its mission with the
City of McKeesport. This year, the NAACP also recognized Twin Rivers Elementary
students who participated in an art contest, celebrating the work of Alma
Woodsey Thomas.
