SUMMER BLAST

Summer Blast is a high-energy weeklong event designed for 6- to 11-year-olds to learn biblical values.
Each evening the campers will learn about the fruit of the Spirit from the Bible through storytelling, drama, music and games. Each child will receive a Summer Blast t-shirt, prizes and lasting friendships. Monday – Love Tuesday – Joy Wednesday – Peace Thursday – Patience Friday – Self-Control

ANGORA GARDENS HOPS INTO SPRING
Angora Gardens( UPMC / MYCS) held its annual Easter Egg Hunt on March 17. Despite the cold weather and cloudy skies, more than 600 children and adults attended, making this one of the most popular events to date! It included concessions, vendors, face painting, basket auctions, age‐divided egg hunts and more. Each year, Angora Gardens hosts several free events open to the community. All events serve as outreach efforts and small fundraisers to support program activities.

MCKEESPORT ART GROUP CELEBRATES DIAMOND ANNIVERSARY
On May 18-20, the McKeesport Art Group will celebrate its“ Diamond Jubilee”— the 60th anniversary of its founding— with special recognition at the annual Spring Art Show at the Jacob Woll Pavilion in Renziehausen Park.
The group encourages Mon Valley artists of all skill levels to enter the show and share their creative talents with friends, neighbors, art enthusiasts and other artists. Entries are accepted from McKeesport Art Group members as well as non-members in watercolors, oils, acrylics, pencil, pastels, fabric, photography, digital art, mixed media and sculpture. The show includes categories for Amateur, Professional and Student artists. The prospectus for the show is available on the group’ s website, mckeesportartgroup. com, and on Facebook. A copy can be requested by mail by contacting the group’ s president, Janice Catalogna, at 412.469.2710.
Throughout the year, McKeesport Art Group holds monthly meetings featuring special demonstrations and speakers of interest to artists and art enthusiasts. Last year it launched a new concept called“ Paint Your Pet” which has become a favorite of pet lovers throughout the community. A“ Paint Your Pet” session is planned during the Spring Art Show.
