Village for Kids
Families from across the Mon Valley gathered in Renziehausen Park on August 15 for the eighth-annual Village for Kids. The carnival-style program welcomes children of all ages to take part in a day that celebrates them.
Free games, crafts, snacks and inflatable rides – not to mention a visit from everyone’ s favorite“ doc” and fire dog – brought families together for a full day of fun.
“ This event continues to grow and it is wonderful how after eight years we are still going strong,” co-chair Alison Piccolino said.“ Today is completely focused on kids, and to see so many smiling faces and hearing all the excited laughs makes the hard work prior completely worth it.”
Participating groups included the AIU Head Start- McKeesport, Allegheny County Health Department, Altrusa International of McKeesport, Angora Gardens Junior Gardeners, Auberle, Carnegie Library of McKeesport, CCP White Oak, Eden Park Roller Rink, Faith Lutheran Church, Family Foundations / Early Head Start, Family Links, Family Resources, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Kiwanis Club of McKeesport / White Oak, Latterman Family Health Center, McKeesport Ambulance Rescue Service, McKeesport Fire Department, McKeesport First Steps Parenting Program, McKeesport Hospital Foundation, McKeesport Message Committee, McKeesport Police Department, Mon Valley Circles, Mon Valley Providers Council, Mon Yough Community Services, Pittsburgh Gymnastics Club, Small Seeds Development, state Rep.
