The stars were shining brightly as Auberle celebrated the outstanding successes of many of its program participants at the 37th annual All-Star Banquet held on March 26.
FOUNDATION MODERNIZES PLAYROOM AT THE CHILDREN’ S HOME & LEMIEUX FAMILY CENTER
The Children’ s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center announced that the Mario Lemieux Foundation has placed the finishing touches on the update to Austin’ s Playroom, established in 2002. This renovation marks another milestone in the decades-long partnership between the two organizations.
Austin’ s Playroom, an innovative and compassionate initiative of Nathalie Lemieux, provides a safe, fun, and engaging atmosphere for children and siblings while their families focus on health and healing during challenging medical situations.

LUXURY WIG SALON FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND OTHERS CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING
A high-quality wig salon for cancer patients and others experiencing hair loss celebrated the opening of a new location in Squirrel Hill.
Serenity Wig Salon, founded by cosmetologist Chami Saks, provides a
welcoming and well-maintained as the day they first opened,” said Nancy Angus, president of the Mario Lemieux Foundation.
“ We are pleased to provide a beautifully renovated, cheerful space that gives families who depend on The Children’ s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center comfort, joy and a much-needed sense of relief during challenging times.”
The revamped playroom features updated amenities and new interactive elements. Bright colors, engaging artwork, and a variety of toys and games create a cheerful and stimulating environment while encouraging creative, independent, hands-on play.
The Mario Lemieux Foundation remains committed to supporting families in challenging medical situations and enhancing the quality of care provided warm and welcoming space for women to regain their confidence. The salon specializes in ethically sourced European wigs designed for a natural look.
During her hair loss journey while undergoing breast cancer treatment,“ Dance Moms” star Kelly Hyland found comfort at Serenity. Other clients like law student Isabelle, who struggled with alopecia, also praise the salon for its compassionate approach and lifechanging transformations.
The grand opening event took place March 6 at 2734 Murray Ave. The evening included giveaways, a photo booth and interviews with the founder and clients.
