Rehearsal for“ Titanic, the Musical” at the high school was intense. The audiences loved the music and story of the people who set sail on that fateful journey in April 1912. The captivating performances and singing showed the talent of many who had made their own journeys to this musical after elementary and middle school productions gave them a great background. Bravo to all involved!

Sports Round-Up: Boys Volleyball
Congratulations to the Boys Volleyball Team and Coach Brent Murphy on a good season. According to Athletic Director Charley Kiss,“ This season was the first time in school history, the Boys Volleyball Team qualified for the WPIAL Playoffs. Unfortunately, they lost to South Fayette in round 1 of the playoffs, but they played really hard and represented the program and community very well.”
Coach Murphy said the team finished the regular season at 9-9 with 6 of the 12 team members being selected for all section teams, including: Jason Martin & Tyshon Francis-1st team; Brady Eastman & Royce Fuqua-2nd team; Deshea Davis & Quentcy Stringer-3rd team.
Jason and Tyshon are the first volleyball players in school history to be named first team all section, and each was named the WPIAL Class AA Player of the week this season, a first for McKeesport volleyball players.
Of the 12 members of our team, 6 of them were new to the program this year, so we will have a good start for next season. Murphy encouraged any high school boy to attend the open gyms starting in June to see what they think of volleyball and practice playing for next year’ s try-outs.
