restoration. By completing complex repairs and high-end refinishing on a variety of vehicles, these students transform damaged cars into road-ready works of art, demonstrating an elite attention to technical detail.
• The Caregivers: In Allied Health, Amber Richards leads students as they bridge the gap between curiosity and clinical skill, assisting with health screenings at local elementary schools. Meanwhile, Lacey Siess’ s Child Care program operates " Tiger Tots," an on-site pre-school where high schoolers earn their CDA credentials by teaching the next generation of McKeesport residents.
• The Creators: Lyndsay Brown’ s Graphic Arts students( familiarly known as " Graphics ") are the visual architects of the district. From branding police vehicles to mastering the Adobe Creative Cloud, they prove that design is the invisible force shaping our world.
• The Salon Stylists: Starr Harper leads the Cosmetology students in learning how to style and cut hairstyles for women and men, as well as working with manicures, pedicures, and make-up. Community members benefit from lower costs as the students gain experience.
• The Chefs and Cooks: Students in the Culinary program are led by Jeff Richardson in meal preparation and presentation for dining at local restaurants, cafeterias, and fine dining experiences.

A Call to the Community
As MATC continues to grow, its success relies on the bridge between the school and the local economy. Whether it’ s a hair appointment at the Cosmetology salon or a meal at the Tiger Inn( reopening for in-person dining this spring) from the students in Culinary, the community is invited to witness this transformation firsthand.“ CTE Month in February was about recognizing that education and community partnerships are building futures right here at home,” says Dr. Jamie Lusebrink, Director of Technology, Reporting, and CTE.“ At MATC, the message to students is clear: You don’ t have to leave to find your future. You can build it, design it, and lead it right here in McKeesport.”
