Future Minds: Building Bright Horizons is a Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program funded in full or in part with a federal USDE grant provided by the PA Department of Education. It was held at Twin Rivers Elementary and served MASD students entering grades K-5.

When students walked through the doors of summer camp, they weren ' t simply arriving for another day of activities— they were stepping into a summer filled with opportunities to explore, create, collaborate, and discover. Our summer programming blended academic learning with enrichment and hands-on experiences, allowing students to continue developing important skills while enjoying the freedom and excitement that summer brings. From reading and writing to STEM challenges, creative projects, physical education, and collaborative activities, students were encouraged to learn in ways that felt engaging and meaningful.
The best measure of a successful summer isn ' t always found in a worksheet or an assessment. Sometimes, it can be seen in a child ' s excitement when they finish a project, the pride on a student ' s face after mastering something new, or the laughter shared between friends. Those moments happened all summer long. Our students read. They created. They explored. They asked questions. They solved problems. They moved. They imagined. They made friends.
And most importantly, they continued to learn. Because summer learning isn ' t just about preparing for the next school year; it ' s about building bright horizons.
