• DIBELS ( Dynamic Indicator of Basic Early Literacy Skills )
• Kindergarten through 5th grade will use a new Reading series this year entitled Journeys by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt .
• Wilson Fundations K-2 ( a description of this program , as well as , parent materials are posted on the MASD web site for parents to view and download )
• Supplemental reading programs based on student need for reading intervention groups
• 140 minutes ( 3rd – 5th grade ) - 160 minutes ( Kindergarten- 2nd grade ) daily for Language Arts instruction which includes a 40-minute enrichment period across the grade level .

Francis McClure will inform parents of their schools ’ participation as a Title I school and explain the requirements , and the rights for parents to be involved .
