Marching Band Show Features Custom Arrangement
Mars Area High School Marching Band’ s 2016-2017 halftime show is themed“ Infected.”
The show features a custom arrangement of music that is a little different than what the band has performed in the past, says Mark Rodgers, band director, noting that the show remains in line with the style of PIMBA( Pennsylvania Interscholastic Marching Band Association) and BOA( Bands of America) shows. The show will feature the songs“ Bodysnatchers” by Radiohead; the theme from the motion picture, Pan’ s Labyrinth; and“ Hysteria” by Muse.
Senior Katie Olsen and sophomore Jenna Protho serve as drum major and assistant drum major, respectively. Other featured performers this season include seniors Riley Funk( trumpet) and Zach Kowalewski( alto saxophone); and sophomores Tara Brazel( mellophone), Jenna Halenda( flute) and Jacob Smith( trombone).
