Urogynecology
Urogynecology combines aspects of gynecology and urology and treats conditions that affect the pelvic floor. The urogynecology division at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital includes a team of providers who see patients at locations throughout western Pennsylvania.
“ We all love what we do, and we’ re a really great team,” says Lauren Giugale, MD, division director of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.“ All of our providers are excellent, and many patients can receive most of their urogynecology care close to home. They don’ t necessarily need to come to Magee because we go out into the community.”
Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

The UPMC Magee-Womens Center for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility provides both in-person and virtual consultations for conditions that may affect fertility, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, ovarian insufficiency, and recurrent pregnancy loss. Patients also have access to fertility preservation services.
Treatments may include surgery to treat conditions that impact a patient’ s fertility, ovarian stimulation, intrauterine insemination, and in vitro fertilization( IVF) procedures. However, not all patients who seek infertility services need extensive treatment.
“ The goal of our team is to provide the best quality of care, as well as care that is patient-centered,” Dr. Rios says.“ We try to provide individual care and answers in real time.”
Gynecologic Oncology
