LOCAL HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING COMPANY WINS NATIONAL AWARD
Bill Kennihan , president of 49-year-old , family-owned and operated Kennihan Plumbing , Heating and Air Conditioning in Valencia , earned the prestigious John Garofalo Implementation Award from National Comfort Institute , Inc . ( NCI ) during its annual conference in Austin , Texas . This award recognizes an HVAC company ’ s dedication to performancebased contracting that far exceeds customer expectations .
NCI ’ s director of training and coaching , David Holt , feels that Kennihan embodies implementation of exceptional technical practices and business strategies . “ Today they regularly use this knowledge to improve the safety , health , comfort , and energy efficiency of their customers ’ homes and businesses ,” he said . “ They have a deep , multi-generation leadership team that enforces strict personal and business ethical standards . MARS BANK SUPPORTS VETERANS IN NEED
Mars Bank presented a check for $ 1,100 to Veterans in Need of Butler County on Jan . 30 . The donation was the combined contributions of bank employees , customers and the bank . Veterans in Need provides emergency assistance to veterans in Butler County .
“ We are pleased to support our community ’ s veterans through this effective program ,” said Harry Austin , Mars Bank Director . “ It is one small way that we can help repay our veterans for their service to our country .”
Veterans in Need was founded in 2016 to provide emergency assistance to veterans who suffer sudden loss of income or other emergency . Funds are provided for everyday essentials that are beyond the individual ’ s ability to meet . The organization also operates a furniture warehouse , which provides household goods to veterans . Any veteran honorably discharged and with a valid DD214 or other documentation may apply for assistance . Veterans in Need operates out of Butler County Veteran Services , First Floor ,

This is the second year that Mars Bank collected donations for Veterans in Need as part of its Step Forward Campaign , which promotes and supports first responders , active military and veterans . 6TH ANNUAL WOODLAND FARMS LEMONADE STAND
The 6th annual Woodland Farms Lemonade Stand will be held on Saturday , June 23 , from 12 to 4 p . m . It will be located at the corner of Pinkerton Road and Scarlet Circle in Wexford — right off Warrendale Road ( the Red Belt ). The lemonade will be fresh squeezed and icy cold . There will be no cost for the lemonade , but a donation is greatly appreciated . A free home-baked cookie will be given to anyone who makes a donation . This is a pet friendly event ! Dog treats and water are available for four-legged friends . To-go cups will be available , and anyone is welcome to drive up and be served right in their car .
To date the Woodland Farms Lemonade Stand has raised over $ 4,000 for Alex ’ s Lemonade Stand . The goal this year is to raise $ 1,200 . Donations can also be made online at alexslemonade . org / mypage / 1443561 .
