15th Annual Lutheran SeniorLife Excellence is Ageless Gala
“ A Celebration of Harmony,” was the theme of the 15th Annual Lutheran SeniorLife Excellence is Ageless Gala, which took place on April 27 at Heinz Field.
This year’ s honorees were Bishop David Zubik of the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese and Bishop Kurt Kusserow of the Southwestern PA Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
“ Both of these honorees have exemplified through their ministries a servant’ s heart to thousands of seniors throughout the region. Many have received an opportunity for a more Abundant Life because of the work of these men,” said David Fenoglietto, president and CEO of Lutheran SeniorLife.
More than 520 people attended, one of the largest audiences in the 15-year history of the annual Gala, and more than $ 225,000 was raised, money that goes directly to Benevolent Care at Lutheran SeniorLife.
Fenoglietto also said that more than $ 2 million has been raised for Benevolent Care during the history of the event.
As in past years, friends and supporters of Lutheran SeniorLife came together to recognize honorees and help raise funds to support the benevolent care fund, which provides services to those who have exhausted their financial resources.
Jane Bittcher, president of the Lutheran SeniorLife Foundation, which sponsored the event, said,“ Both honorees exemplified the reasons each was honored.“ They clearly showed how we are never stronger than when we work together, and it is why we work so hard to provide those we serve, elders throughout the region, in a way that brings a more Abundant Life to all.” Photos by Primetime Shots.
