GALA
Nearly 500 friends, supporters, partners
and guests of Lutheran SeniorLife gathered at
Heinz Field on April 28 to celebrate Abundant
Life® at the Excellence is Ageless Gala, raising
approximately $230,000 for benevolent care.
This year’s honoree was Mark Nordenberg,
Chancellor Emeritus of the University of
Pittsburgh.
Throughout his distinguished career,
Nordenberg has inspired others to be vibrant
and productive, while making significant
contributions to the community through
his service, philanthropy and leadership. “At
every stage of our lives, we all have things we
want to accomplish, experience and enjoy,"
said Nordenberg. "Helping people maintain
the ability to effectively pursue their dreams,
whatever they may be, sits at the heart of the
Lutheran SeniorLife mission. I am deeply
grateful to Lutheran SeniorLife for honoring
me in such a special way,” he said.
“We were honored to have Mark
Nordenberg as our honoree this year,” said
Jane Bittcher, President of the Lutheran
SeniorLife Foundation. “Part of our mission
at Lutheran SeniorLife is to provide the
programs and services our residents and
program participants need to keep growing,
learning and exploring—to live abundantly.
Mr. Nordenberg’s commitment to education
at the University of Pittsburgh and exemplary
dedication to the community make him the
perfect example of this.”
She also expressed her sincere thanks to
all who contributed to the benevolent care
fund, which supports Lutheran SeniorLife
residents who have outlived their financial
resources, including Platinum Sponsors BNY
