Jen ’ s Top 4 Benefits of Working in Early Childhood at Little House Learning Center

With several openings in the field of early childhood learning , Little House Learning Center is looking for you to join them on a rewarding and successful career path . Owner Jen Osterman said that early childhood is a field that offers many benefits , both tangible and intangible , and here are her top four reasons why you should consider applying today :

It ’ s Good for the Soul
“ Working in early childcare really is simply good for the soul . As an early childhood professional in the industry for over 20 years , I can honestly say that while many things are required of you - teamwork , communication , patience , persistence , passion for the next generation ” she said . “ It gives back in spades .” Working with and investing in the next generation through support , teachable moments and PLAY , invites their innocence and silliness to rub off on you ! Allowing yourself to step into their imagination can open up a world of laughter and fun . “ Snuggling tiny infants while making eye contact , encouraging facial expressions , and building emotional connections is a heartwarming experience . Assisting a toddler in taking their first steps or matching up color blocks as they build creates learning experiences that are memorable for both the children and the teachers . ”
You Are a Difference Maker
“ In Early Childhood Education we have the opportunity to make a difference every day , and impact the next generation of learners ” she said . “ We can demonstrate kindness to one another in our actions and our words . The classroom teachers work to invite compassion in the students while celebrating our similarities and our differences ! “ Participating in encouraging children to achieve goals that they didn ’ t know were
possible , all while laughing and building genuine connections fosters the true meaning of difference makers .
Career Progression
In a field that ’ s growing year over year , opportunities are being offered to grow and develop in the Early Childhood Field . Helping people to achieve their long term goals in obtaining education focused on impacting our youngest citizens . Whether shooting for a CDA , an associates , a bachelor ’ s degree or even masters there are many avenues available to do so , while working in the field . “ As educators while we are always teaching we are also , always learning !” Osterman said . “ Apprenticeship programs are available through many colleges and universities allowing teachers working full time to obtain or further degrees in education .” With grants and scholarships also available , these opportunities can help teachers progress in the profession and remover barriers to higher education all without the financial burden of student loans .
Because it ’ s Fun ! While the work is unquestionably challenging , Osterman said the fun outweighs everything else . Being silly on a daily basis is not only welcomed , but required ! Dancing and singing is acceptable , even if you ’ re off-key . Starting your day with a disco ball dance party and end it in a joke-off with a five year old . You could find yourself dressing up as a postal worker or firefighter or building letters in sand . “ You don ’ t have to be a musician or dancer to make a difference ,” she said . “ Kids are professionals at singing and dancing like nobody ’ s watching . They are simply asking for Difference Makers in their life to do the same .”
